The Courts Service today published its ICT, Digital and Data Strategy for 2024 -2027.
Owen Harrison, Chief Information Officer of the Courts Service, talking about the publication, explained that "Building on the significant progress we’ve made in recent years, this strategy moves the Courts Service further along its goal of becoming a digital first organisation. It sets out how we will enhance the use of technology by introducing new services and by improving the existing services we provide to court users, judiciary and staff."
Speaking about the development of the strategy Owen confirmed, "The strategy was informed by a combination of internal and external consultations, including the broad based series of interviews and surveys with staff and the judiciary. We have also taken care to ensure that the strategy aligns with other organisational plans and strategies, and with broader public sector strategies and guidance. We would like to thank all those who helped inform this strategy and we look forward to working with them into the future on many of the projects that will flow from it."
The vision of the Courts Service ICT, Digital and Data Strategy is to enable coherent end-to-end user-centric digital journeys, designed and built in a co-creative, multidisciplinary and agile manner, where ICT works in partnership with both internal and external colleagues. In order to help the organisation achieve the vision of its 10-year Modernisation Programme, the strategy sets out a series of actions across 6 key themes. These target an array of improvements in areas such as courtroom technology, case management including online filing, network expansion, data management, and security, all enabled through a collaborative and open way of working.
